NO MATTER WHAT OUR NAME SOUNDS LIKE, WE ARE NOT AN ADOPTION AGENCY, AND NEITHER ARE WE A FOSTER CARE AGENCY.

Members of our team consist mainly of volunteer parents who have walked the long and daunting road with a drug-addict child. The children we’ve helped over the years were addicted to the heavy stuff such as Heroin, Crystal Meth (Tik), Crack-Cocaine --- the stuff that can eventually kill you if you don’t stop using it! ADOPT A DRUG ADDICT is proud to introduce a brilliant new initiative that is bound to become extremely popular in South Africa.
It's a Lifestyle... It’s about general moral / ethical values!

THE CYCLE OF DRUG ADDICTION * WHERE DO WE FIT IN?
Drug addiction follows a cycle and usually starts with a problem, discomfort or some form of emotional or physical pain the person is experiencing. In other words, there is usually an underlying cause behind the addiction. If the underlying cause is not addressed, the addict can remain entrapped in a vicious circle that can last for years, --- depending on the type of drug involved. This is the reason why so many addicts drop out of rehab before completing the prescribed treatment and/or programme. Sometimes they do complete a long or short-term programme successfully, only to fall back (relapse) into the cycle of drug addiction a few weeks or sometimes months later. It is usually at this stage when the addict’s support structure starts showing signs of collapse, --- due to various reasons such as a lack of financial support, or maybe out of pure hopelessness and despair! This is where ADOPT A DRUG ADDICT fits in the picture! We become the addict’s new support structure – his/her substitute “alternative parents” – call it what you want! HEROIN IS KILLING OUR KIDS!
The use of the Killer-Drug Heroin has become a serious problem in South Africa. Children as young as 13 years are being targeted by drug dealers. It is the most habit-forming drug available, and to make matters worse the price has dropped and it now available on the streets in all major cities of South Africa. More Info Here

RITALIN * GET YOUR KIDS OFF THE STUFF!
The amount of addicts in recovery who used Ritalin when they were toddlers is alarming. The drug is chemically similar to cocaine, hence the reason why it’s also referred to as “Kiddie Cocaine” or “Kiddie Coke” More Info Here
